The xx are an English indie pop band formed in 2005 in Wandsworth, London. The band consists of Romy Madley Croft (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sim (bass, vocals) and Jamie Smith (beats, MPC, backing vocals). Their genre is mostly indie, but in a kind of alternative way. So again, it's an alternative band. Wow how surprising from me. They've released two albums so far, xx in 2009 and Coexist in 2012. Currently they're working on their 3rd studio album.
